Born on May 1, 1951 in Chorzów, prof.nadzw.dr hab.n.med , a specialist in orthopaedics and traumatology with thirty seven year's work experience.

Since 1983 a consultant of the Male Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics and since 1998 a managing director of the District Hospital of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, Piekary Śląskie.

He is an author of numerous national and international clinical papers and research publications.

Bogdan Koczy was both the President of the Silesian Branch of Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and a memeber of its board. Since 2010 he has served as Provincial Consultant in Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Locomotor System.

He is a laureate of i.a. '' Golden Laurels of the Ability and Competence in the category of manager and socioeconomic leader,'' awarded in 2006. Bogadan Koczy was also awarded the title of Healthcare Market Manager in the category of public institutions in 2011. Furthermore, he was presented with i.a. The Knight's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland and The Badge of the Order of Merit for '' Services to the Healthcare''.

For many years, under his management, the hospital has been classified high in the national ranking list of hospitals and orthopedics and trauma surgery departments, organized by prestigious publishing companies i.a. ''Wprost”, ''Newsweek Polska”, ''Rzeczpospolita ''.
